College Psychological Support Unit Holds an Awareness Seminar Titled: “Study Calmly… Take Exams with Confidence: Your Guide to Dealing with Exam Anxiety”

As part of the college’s commitment to supporting students’ mental health and enhancing their ability to cope with academic pressures, the College Psychological Support Unit organized an awareness seminar titled:

“Study Calmly… Take Exams with Confidence: Your Guide to Dealing with Exam Anxiety.”

The seminar was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Magdy El‑Shahat, Dean of the College; Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ashour, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Ibrahim El‑Ghoneimy, Director of the College Psychological Support Unit.

The seminar was delivered by Dr. Hend Yehia Kamel, a member of the Psychological Support Unit, who addressed several important topics. أبرز these were effective study habits and their role in reducing anxiety levels. She also explained that anxiety is not always negative; rather, it can be a healthy, motivating form of anxiety that helps improve performance when properly directed. In addition, a range of effective strategies was presented to help students control and manage anxiety in a positive way, enhancing their self‑confidence during the examination period.

At the conclusion of the seminar, it was emphasized that the Psychological Support Unit always keeps its doors open to all students to provide support and assistance, listen to their concerns, and help them overcome difficulties. A questionnaire was also administered to attendees to identify their anxiety levels and patterns, reflecting the unit’s commitment to offering services based on students’ actual needs.

The college affirms its ongoing commitment to organizing such activities aimed at supporting mental health and creating a safe and motivating educational environment for all students.

Higher Education: Applications Open for ALECSO Innovation Award for Young Researchers 2025–2026

As part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's vision to support scientific research and foster innovation, the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science, and Culture has announced the opening of applications for the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) Innovation Award for Young Researchers in the Arab World for its current cycle (2025–2026), hosted by the Sultanate of Oman.
The award aims to encourage young Arab researchers to present innovative ideas and solutions in scientific and technological fields, contributing to addressing developmental challenges, supporting the shift towards a knowledge-based economy, and enhancing the role of scientific research in serving society.
This year, the award focuses on several priority topics, including health vigilance, air quality, and sustainable management of medical and hazardous waste, reflecting the goal of supporting practical solutions to environmental and developmental challenges.
The award comprises three main categories:
1. Best Innovative Scientific Research addressing priority developmental issues.
2. Best Patent or Scientific Innovation that is applicable and offers practical solutions.
3. Best Project Presented by a Scientific Institution (university or research center) in the fields of innovation and scientific research.
These categories highlight the award's commitment to supporting individual and institutional innovation and connecting scientific research with practical applications that benefit Arab communities.

"Occupational Safety, Health, and Civil Defense" Awareness Seminar at Benha University

The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at Benha University organized a specialized awareness seminar on occupational safety, health, and civil defense at the Faculty of Education. This initiative is part of the university's plan to promote safety concepts and proactive crisis preparedness, aiming to achieve a safer and more sustainable educational environment.
The seminar was held under the auspices of:
• Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University,
• Prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
It was coordinated by :
• Prof. Ibrahim Rageh, Director of the Crisis and Disaster Management Unit,
• Prof. Mohamed Shebl, Chairperson of the Civil Defense Committee at the university,
• Mrs. Rania Maatz Eissa, Assistant Secretary-General for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
The event was attended by :
• Prof. Magdy El-Shehat, Dean of the Faculty of Education,
• Prof. Ali Abdel Nabi Hanafi, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.
The seminar covered several key topics, including the principles of occupational safety and health, mechanisms for dealing with crises and disasters, and methods for fire risk prevention. It also featured practical demonstrations on how to prepare and implement evacuation plans during emergencies, enhancing the readiness of individuals and institutions to handle crises.
The seminar emphasized the importance of spreading a culture of safety within the university community and raising awareness among students and staff. This contributes to providing a safe and stable educational environment.
The event witnessed significant participation from representatives of academic and administrative departments.
