Benha University Conference on Applied Sciences… Day Two with Outstanding Student Participation

Under the patronage of Dr. Nasser El-Guizawy, President of Benha University, the activities of the Fifth Annual Student Conference on Applied Sciences were inaugurated.

The event was attended by Dr. Gehan Abdel Hadi, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Dr. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; along with faculty deans and vice deans, Dr. Khaled Eissaoui, General Coordinator of Activities, and the participating students.

During the second day of the conference, several distinguished speakers delivered lectures, including the actor Tarek El-Desouky, who discussed the importance of drama in shaping awareness and national belonging; Captain Mohamed Abdallah, captain of Al-Ahly Club, who addressed the role of sports in building individuals; and Engineer Mohamed Zohran, a digital transformation expert, who presented on cybersecurity. Additionally, several student success stories from the university were showcased.

Dr. Gehan Abdel Hadi emphasized Benha University’s commitment to supporting student creativity and academic excellence, as well as strengthening the role of scientific research in shaping a brighter future for both students and the nation. She noted that students’ participation in the conference—through research papers, projects, and presentations—represents a significant step in building their academic and professional identities. It also provides a valuable opportunity for exchanging experiences, embracing new ideas, working collaboratively, and striving for innovation and creativity.

Dr. Taha Ashour added that the conference reflects the university’s dedication to promoting a culture of applied scientific research and linking educational outcomes with societal needs and the labor market. He highlighted its alignment with Egypt’s Vision 2030, which prioritizes innovation and knowledge as key pillars for building a strong and sustainable economy. He also stressed that students are at the heart of the educational process and represent the hope for the nation’s future.

For his part, Dr. Khaled Eissaoui explained that scientific research is the driving force of development in society, serving as both a methodology and a way of life through which communities are advanced. He added that it also plays a vital role in enhancing the university’s standing locally and internationally. He noted that, within the framework of the Fifth Annual Conference on Applied Sciences, the student conference recognized 30 research papers, 4 published studies, and 4 success stories.

On the other hand, the university’s vice presidents praised the projects presented by first-year and early-stage university students participating in the conference. They also listened to explanations delivered by student supervisors, showcasing diverse research topics and applied science-based solutions.
