Benha University Participates in the Opening Ceremony of the 53rd Edition of the Egyptian Universities and Institutes League

Benha University participated in the opening ceremony events of the 53rd edition of the Egyptian Universities and Institutes League, organized by the Sports Federation of Universities at the Indoor Hall of the Olympic Committee in the New Administrative Capital.
The ceremony was attended and patronized by Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports; Prof.Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University; Prof.Dr. Gehan Abdel Hadiy ,Vice President of Benha University for Postgraduate Studies and Research; along with a number of university presidents and their deputies, members of the Board of Directors of the Sports Federation of Universities, and a host of leaders from the Ministries of Higher Education, and Youth and Sports.
Prof.Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy pointed out that the university's representation by a student delegation participating in the parade reflects the university's status and role in supporting various student activities, which contribute to building a balanced student character and fostering a spirit of belonging and teamwork. This further confirms the leadership of Egyptian universities and their role in supporting the vision of the Egyptian state.
It is worth noting that the Egyptian Universities and Institutes League includes 20 diverse sports: (football, basketball, handball, volleyball, 3x3 basketball, table tennis, tennis, squash, badminton, padel, chess, judo, karate, wrestling, athletics, swimming, fin swimming, modern pentathlon, fencing), with wide participation encompassing 28 public universities, over 34 private universities, 30 community universities, 10 technological universities, in addition to more than 215 higher institutes.

Benha University Wins 25 Medals at Universities Athletics Championship

Prof.Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced that the University's students achieved advanced positions among Egyptian higher education universities and institutes at the Universities Athletics Championship for Students "Able-Bodied and Determined Athletes".
The Championship was organized by the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation at the American University in Cairo grounds.
El-Gizawy extended congratulations to the winning students who managed to secure 6 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 16 bronze medals during the championship events. He encouraged their continued positive participation in championships and competitions, aiming to channel their energies productively and help them acquire diverse life experiences and skills.
For her part, Prof.Dr. Jehan Abdel Hadi, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, stated that the university administration is keen on participating in such events and various student activities. This is to foster a spirit of competition, cooperation, and positive interaction among students.

- Announces the Organization of the "Made in Benha University" Exhibition and the Adoption of the Productive University Model Next February The Council of Benha University held its meeting under the chairmanship of Prof.Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, and in the presence of Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Qalyubia; Prof.Dr. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Dr. Taha Ashour, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development; and the esteemed members of the University Council.
The President of Benha University opened the Council's proceedings by welcoming Engineer Ayman Attia, Governor of Qalyubia, praising the cooperation between the university and the governorate. He affirmed the strong relationship between the governorate and the university, describing the university as its "house of expertise" for providing the best services to citizens.
For his part, the Governor of Qalyubia, during his speech, emphasized the depth of strategic relations between the governorate's executive apparatus and the university. He noted that the university represents the essential pillar for supporting sustainable development plans within Qalyubia by providing engineering and scientific consultations that ensure the implementation of various projects according to the highest quality standards. He stressed that integration between the two sides is the optimal path to achieving citizens' aspirations and improving the level of services provided to them.
Engineer Ayman Attia praised the enlightening and societal role played by Benha University in qualifying youth and linking scientific research to the needs of the local market. He pointed out ways to enhance cooperation across various sectors, affirming his full support for all student and research activities that contribute to elevating the name of the governorate and the university in international forums, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030.
On another note, during the session, Prof.Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy extended congratulations to the members of the University Council, deans, faculty members, staff, and students on the approaching holy month of Ramadan. He emphasized the necessity of concerted efforts to ensure the regular progression of the educational process while providing the best university services during the holy month, wishing that God returns these days with goodness, blessings, and prosperity.
The University President also congratulated Dr. Mohamed Mansour on the political leadership's confidence in appointing him as Dean of the Faculty of Law, wishing him continued success and prosperity in his new responsibilities.
"El-Gizawy" praised the continuous progress in international rankings, affirming that the university's appearance in rankings such as "THE World University Rankings by Subject 2026" and "QS Sustainability Ranking 2026" reflects the quality of academic and research services, enhances its institutional reputation globally, and is a result of the policy of improving research outputs and supporting researchers.
The University President directed the necessity of completing the work of recording, reviewing, and announcing the results of the first semester next week, and opening the door for grade appeals for one week after the results are announced, according to the rules approved by the University Council.
During the session, "El-Gizawy" stressed the necessity of relying on official sources for obtaining data and studies used in scientific research that discuss the university and various state institutions, with the aim of enhancing the quality of scientific research.
He added that some individuals conducting surveys and obtaining data from unofficial sources leads to flawed and inaccurate conclusions about state sectors and the university.
During the session, Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy announced that Benha University will begin installing the solar power station at the university's administration next week and using solar-powered lighting within university campuses, as part of its endeavor to become a model in using clean energy to achieve sustainable development goals and Egypt's Vision 2030.
"El-Gizawy"clarified that, within the framework of the university's plan to reduce carbon emissions, the Central Committee for Measuring Environmental Impact and Carbon Neutrality has been formed at the university to ensure achieving a unified zero-carbon footprint, encompassing all theoretical and practical faculties, hospitals, and university campuses that host thousands of students, and all operational and service activities at the university.
The University President reviewed a number of events organized by the university during the upcoming month of February, including the organization by the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector of the "Made in Benha University" exhibition, which adopts the productive university model and comes within the framework of the University's keenness to support innovation and encourage its students in production and practical application.
"El-Gizawy" also reviewed the commencement of judging for the "Angels of Recitation for People of Determination" competition, sponsored by Qalyubia Governorate, Benha University, and Al-Shabban Private School in Benha. This competition comes within the framework of supporting societal integration and providing equal opportunities, where participants compete in a distinguished spiritual atmosphere before a specialized judging committee and in the presence of an audience sharing moments of faith and devotion. He noted that this competition affirms that the Holy Quran is a message of mercy and guidance, and that people of determination are partners in disseminating it and elevating its value.
Additionally, the university is organizing the Professional Empowerment and Career Future Conference at the university's Obour branch through the University Center for Professional Development. This conference aims to foresee the future of work in Egypt and enhance integration between education, the labor market, and entrepreneurship by discussing modern trends and national experiences in the fields of career guidance and developing youth skills to keep pace with digital transformation and the requirements of the modern economy.
