Under the patronage of Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University;
Dr. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development;
Dr. Mohamed El-Ashhab, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine;
and Dr. Nermeen Adly, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development,
the Faculty of Medicine organized an addiction‑awareness initiative entitled “A Safe, Addiction‑Free Community” for students of the Faculties of Arts and Commerce.

The initiative featured the participation of Dr. Sherine El-Khouly, Head of the Department of Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology at the Faculty of Medicine, and was coordinated with Ms. Rania Moataz, the University’s Assistant Secretary for Community Service and Environmental Development.

The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the serious health risks of addiction and to encourage university students to adopt a healthy, addiction‑free lifestyle by:

  • Increasing awareness of the dangers of addiction and its health, economic, and social impacts.
  • Discussing strategies for addiction recovery and the role of community support.
  • Highlighting anti‑addiction policies and the importance of regulatory laws.
  • Exchanging experiences and offering practical advice to overcome addiction.
