To Discuss Academic Cooperation: Benha University President Receives Azerbaijan's Ambassador in Cairo
Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, received Ambassador Elkhan Polukhov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Cairo, and his accompanying delegation to discuss ways to enhance academic and cultural cooperation between the university and the embassy.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Jihan Abdel-Hadi, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Dr. Taha Ashour, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Iman Abdel-Haq, Director of the General Service Center for Foreign Languages at the University; Dr. Abdelfattah Monged, Director of the International Relations Office at the University; and Ms. Rania Moataz, Assistant University Secretary-General for Community Service and Environmental Development.
Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy emphasized that the meeting addressed expanding joint cooperation between Benha University and the Azerbaijani Embassy, particularly in academic fields and teaching the Azerbaijani language to non-native speakers. He noted the university's keenness to organize training courses and programs that contribute to enhancing students' and staff's language skills, raising their capability to communicate with international institutions.
"El-Gizawy" added that this cooperation opens new horizons for university students and staff to participate in cultural and academic exchange programs with Azerbaijan. He affirmed the depth of the historical and fraternal relations connecting Egypt and Azerbaijan, as well as his continuous support for everything that would consolidate the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
For his part, Ambassador Elkhan Polukhov commended the excellence of Egyptian students and their eagerness to learn the Azerbaijani language and explore Azerbaijani culture. He expressed his delight with the success of the training course organized by Benha University for teaching Azerbaijani, considering it an important step and beginning for cooperation in other fields.
The Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Cairo affirmed the presence of many similarities between Egyptian and Azerbaijani customs and culture, which strengthens opportunities for closeness and communication between the two peoples.
During the visit, the Azerbaijani Ambassador met a number of students who completed the training course and congratulated them in recognition of their excellence and distinction in studying the Azerbaijani language. He expressed his hope that they would serve as ambassadors for his country in Egypt, stressing the importance of such courses in promoting cultural communication and strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Egypt and Azerbaijan.
It is worth noting that Benha University launched a free weekly training program for studying the Azerbaijani language at the Foreign Languages Center at the university, as part of the joint cooperation between the university and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Cairo.
