The Department of Curriculum & Instruction and Educational Technology held a workshop on Tuesday, 10 February 2026, entitled “Scientific Research Methodology.”
The workshop was delivered by Prof. Dr. Alaa El‑Din Saad Metwally,
with the attendance of the Head of Department, faculty members,
assistant staff (assistant lecturers and teaching assistants), and researchers.
The workshop addressed several key topics, including:
- The concept of scientific research
- Components of the research system (inputs, processes, outputs)
- Pillars of scientific research (What do we research? Why do we research? How do we research? What are the research outcomes?)
- The difference between research methodology and research methods
- Characteristics of scientific research methodology
- Types of research methods
- Qualities of an outstanding researcher
- Selected applied models and activities related to the workshop topics
The topics were discussed by faculty members, the assistant staff, and the researchers.
