Protocol of Cooperation between Benha University and Gemini Africa

  • Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University,
  • Prof. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President of Benha University for Postgraduate Studies and Research,
  • Engineer Adly Wageeh, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Gemini Africa,

Signed a protocol of cooperation aimed at enhancing entrepreneurial skills among students and graduates in the field of entrepreneurship.

Prof. Gehan Abdel Hady emphasized that the protocol aims to support Benha University graduates in developing their graduation projects and transforming them into real business models. Additionally, it seeks to provide specialized courses in entrepreneurship, management, marketing, and finance, while connecting students with a network of investors and mentors through joint events and competitions to strengthen collaboration between the university and the private sector in supporting the national innovation ecosystem.

The Vice President explained that the university will provide training halls, nominate students and projects to participate in the program, and monitor the students' performance during the program.

Engineer Adly Wageeh stated that the company will contribute to implementing the training program and practical content for students by providing experts and mentors from the entrepreneurial community. the company will evaluate and select participating projects and offer free training opportunities for students and graduates within the company, if available.

As part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research's vision to support scientific research and foster innovation, the Egyptian National Commission for Education, Science, and Culture has announced the opening of applications for the Arab League Educational, Cultural, and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) Innovation Award for Young Researchers in the Arab World for its current cycle (2025–2026), hosted by the Sultanate of Oman.
The award aims to encourage young Arab researchers to present innovative ideas and solutions in scientific and technological fields, contributing to addressing developmental challenges, supporting the shift towards a knowledge-based economy, and enhancing the role of scientific research in serving society.
This year, the award focuses on several priority topics, including health vigilance, air quality, and sustainable management of medical and hazardous waste, reflecting the goal of supporting practical solutions to environmental and developmental challenges.
The award comprises three main categories:
1. Best Innovative Scientific Research addressing priority developmental issues.
2. Best Patent or Scientific Innovation that is applicable and offers practical solutions.
3. Best Project Presented by a Scientific Institution (university or research center) in the fields of innovation and scientific research.
These categories highlight the award's commitment to supporting individual and institutional innovation and connecting scientific research with practical applications that benefit Arab communities.
